This six week Painting course will introduce students to the materials and methods of painting with acrylic paints. Students will be taught a variety of approaches to painting and create paintings on paper, panels and canvas.

Concepts and methods taught in this course will include:

• Composition- systems for composing space

• Paint and painting mediums

• Brushes

• Supports- paper, canvas, panels

• Acrylic painting techniques

• Color mixing and color matching

• Representational painting, still life and portraits.

• Abstraction/ Abstract painting

This class is for adults and will be held every Tuesday Evening from April 9 to May 14th, from 6-8:30pm.

Jean Richardson will be the instructor for this NAC Art Course. She has received a BFA in Drawing and Painting and an MFA in Studio Arts. She has been teaching art for 15 years, and has taught students from elementary school aged up to the college level.
